Celebrate biking!
May 19, 2008
Last fall, I had the incredible opportunity to ride bikes with my friend all through Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Since then, I’ve had nothing but absolute love for commuting through downtown San Francisco each day. Supposedly, biking to and from work is the equivalent to the morning coffee and evening cocktail. I still drink coffee before work and a beer afterwards, so I can’t make that claim, but I love interacting with the community of urban cyclist and want to celebrate that here in this blog.
My hope is to highlight bike culture’s many forms in my favorite bike friendly cities – San Francisco, Seattle, New York, and Boston to start – although I’d love to add more as I go.

It is amazing that bicycling has not caught on earlier as a family and neighborhood event. Bikers have known for years that riding in groups develops bonds of friendship but riding with neighbors develops life long partners.
